Being faithful to its tradition, “Traian Lalescu” High School has made itself known through rigor and high quality teaching, thus playing a key role within Caras-Severin education. Through Critical Thinking and objective training based on merits and competences, “Traian Lalescu” High School, Reşiţa promotes genuine values. Consequently, our institution acts fully responsible, being read and capable of making a difference and adjusting to new requirements.
As our institution is both a budgetary center and coordinator for “Mociur Primary School”, “Dealu-Mare Primary School”, "Doman Nursery School”, and “Play and Learn Nursery School”, “Traian Lalescu” High School benefits from offering educational services to more than 1,200 students, including all pre-university levels as follows: nursery, primary, lower-secondary, upper-secondary, and post-secondary training.
When it comes to the teaching staff, the latter is made of exceptionally-trained teachers, i.e.: two PhDs, forty-nine 1st degree teachers, seven 2nd degree teachers, six teachers with “Definitivat” degree( the first degree in Romania for teachers to become professionals) and eight newly-qualified teachers. Amongst them, mention should be made of the fact that fifteen of them are also methodologists of Caras-Severin County Inspectorate for subjects such as: Romanian, English, German, French, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Socio-Humanistic Studies or Physical Education. Moreover, five teachers of the teaching staff are also national teacher-trainers, eight regional trainers, four of them having the status of members of the National Comities of the Subject Olympiads (Biology, Geography, English, German).
Which is more, as a result of an robust contribution to the development and quality of training, eleven teachers out of the amount of our teaching staff have been awarded The Order of the Educational Merit as follows: two have been awarded the title of Officer in Education, seven obtaining the degree of First Class Knight, and two the title of Third Class Knight.
The fourth argument in becoming a student at “Traian Lalescu” High School, Resita is connected to its logistics as follows: 12 specialized classrooms for primary school studies, 3 IT laboratories equipped with P4 computers connected to the Internet through optics fiber; 3 laboratories of sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Biology); 1 Multi-Media Laboratory for foreign languages; 1 Religion Laboratory;1 laboratory for Psycho-Pedagogical Counseling; 35 classrooms, 1 amphitheatre displayed as a conference room, 1 Gym Hall, 1 canteen for primary “Step by Step” training, 2 warehouses, 2 garages, 1 library equipped with 32,000 volumes, 1 Multi-Media room for teachers interested in IT and the Internet as well as a system of video surveillance.
The fifth argument is connected to our extracurricular activities developed in our school as follows:
- The French Theatre Group BODRI;
- The Debating Club “Protagoras”;
- The Students’ Cinema Club;
- The Romanian Theatre Group “Ridendo";
- The Football, Basketball, and Handball School Teams (boys and girls);
- Educational activities of the “ECO-LTL”;
- The School’s Choir “Ison” (Accompaniment);
- The School’s Magazine “Amalgam”;
- Volunteering activities developed together with ONGs such as: “Bike Attack”, “Mansarda” (The Attic), “Cogito”, “Save the Children”, “For Each Child a Family”;
Last but not least, because of the opportunity our students can benefit from international exams such as English (CAE, CPE), German (OSD) or French (DALF).
